After falling out of the shower and bashing my head on the toilet, I realized that the shower is, in fact, NOT the best place to try and learn the "Running Man" dance. True story!

But on a more serious note, I love to have fun and interacting with people. Although if you ever see me on campus I am probably jamming out to my IPOD, so sometimes I can be oblivious to the people around me. Recently I have become very involved in activities throughout Longwood University and the community. I am the President of the Longwood Young Dems club, the treasurer of the Criminal Justice Fraternity Lambda Alpha Epsilon, and a member of the Honors Sociology Fraternity Alpha Kappa Delta. This summer I took on a role of a Common Good Summer Fellow to help campaign for Virginia's 5th district Congressman Tom Perriello, and have built up several relations with people in 4 surrounding counties that will last me a lifetime.

I miss the easy days. The layin’ out under blue sky, high breezy days that strike mind as hardly fleeting as the last weeks before the seasons change. Before the sun runs out of juice and we can still squeeze rays that brighten, tinge horizons orange, before freezing rain replaces thunderstorms.

It’s not saying I don’t enjoy school. I  like late nights like these or just lazy afternoons to think.

The campus here is absolutely beautiful. Tonight I made a dreadful yet fun trip to our Student Union in what seemed to be characterized by monsoon type rain…to say the least it was an epic soak filled walk there and back, lol.  I literally jumped in every  puddle I saw just to embrace my inner child.

Fall here is just beyond words when walking from one end of the campus to the other. It is indeed crunchy leaf season. I’m that girl who goes out of her way to step on that extra crunchy leaf. The trees in front of the Hams are just darling, to see the color change in the leaves over the next few weeks is just a sight to see. It brings  a warmth and comfort to me, its homey. A home away from home as lame as that sounds its how I feel.  Walking down main street is wicked fun in the nice weather, aka scarf and cardigan weather FTW! Macado’s which is famous for their bomb sandwiches is great to eat at on the deck, or like me to watch Monday night football without freezing to death! Even being in Southside in itself is nice during the Fall. Taking a walk down High Bridge Trail FABULOUS! Or if you are a history buff, Lee’s Retreat and stops is fun, that’s all throughout Va too.
