This past Monday, I registered for my last semester at Longwood University. It was very bittersweet. I am ready to embark on my journey as an adult and enter the real world, but I know that I am going to miss my friends, professors, this campus, and the many things that it has offered me. I have grown so much during my time here at Longwood and have met so many amazing people that leaving will be so hard to do. I am also so thankful for the many opportunities that being a student here has offered me. I know that no college student’s experience is alike and that really rings true for me.
When I woke up at 5:55am on Monday, I was still very groggy, but as I sat there with so much apprehension for the clock to finally hit 6:00am, it really set in that this was my final registration. Of course after waiting for 20 minutes for the system to boot back up, the apprehension had faded a little bit, but finally typing those CRN’s in and seeing that I was web registered for my final semester was so unreal! I won’t be experiencing the anticipation of getting all the classes I want or the rush of typing in my CRN”s as quickly as possible ever again (unless I go to grad school!). I won’t be able to map out my semester perfectly so I have no classes on Friday or scheduling the perfect lunch break. Instead, I will be sending out resumes and emailing potential employers.
Now that registration is over, it’s time to finish up the semester and focus on the future! So bittersweet.
