A lot has happened over the past month and so much more is to come! Spring semester is always very busy because all the organizations on campus are trying to do get in their fundraisers and other special events before the end of the year. This week alone has been incredibly busy due to the number of events on campus!
This past Saturday, I had the opportunity to go to the Southside SPCA to volunteer. We were tasked with de-ticking these cute puppies that had just come in. There we six of them running around and following their momma. It was really rewarding to make a difference in the lives of these little guys.
The next day, the Longwood Ambassadors had their Junior Day Open House. Over 1,000 prospective students and families came! It was a very exciting day! I gave a tour with one our newbies and she did an excellent job.
Wednesday evening was the Miss Longwood Pageant. The pageant is put on by Kappa Delta sorority to benefit Madeline’s House ( a local battered women shelter) and Prevent Child Abuse America. It isn’t your typical beauty pageant, the contestants are representatives from organizations on campus and they promote their Longwood spirit in their introduction, sometimes their talent, and a question about Longwood. The show this year fantastic! All of the contestants did really well and their talents were awesome!
This weekend I have two balls to attend: Military Ball and Ambassador Ball! I am very excited for both and all of the wonderful events to come at the end of the semester!
