Winter Break. Well it wasn’t so much a break for me. I took a five week English 400 class which consumed the break to its full extent. I also had a work project for ITC, which took a little bit of time but not too much, it was actually kind of fun because I got to create a blog for the Digital Education Collaborative. I also nannied a lot at the beginning of break, but my employer sometimes tries to take advantage of me as a college student so towards the end of the break I picked up more shifts at the restaurant I have worked at for five years, The Buffalo Wing Factory. If you live in NoVa you should find a location, they have great buffalo wings with 30 different flavors. So I was pretty busy all break with Christmas with my family, Santa treated me well! I also spent New Years in New Jersey with my best friend from elementary school and some of my sorority sisters. It was an amazing time, we went into New York and I saw the September 11 memorial. That was really special because I got to see the name of my boyfriends uncle who died on September 11. After the memorial we rode the subway back to Time Square and shopped. I found out something I didn’t know before…the characters dressed up in New York, are just people in costumes, they don’t work for anyone they just dress up and ask for tips after they take pictures or pose with children…. Fun fact…. It’s kind of creepy… But anyways I have three more days before I move in and I have to finish my research paper, pack and I have three shifts at work…. Hope it all gets done!
