I am a senior at Longwood University, with a Liberal Studies (Elementary Education) major and a Children's Literature minor. I am a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma and live in Stubbs Dormatory on campus. I grew up in Northern Virginia and have lived in the same house for my entire life. I am the youngest of three girls and have a terror of a dog. I like to read classic books, my favorite being Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and listen to all kinds of music.

Starting a New Semester

Every year when I return back to Longwood, something has been different. These differences are what has made my experiences and what will continue to make my experiences at Longwood a little adventure.
My freshman year, well was my freshman year, it was my first time living in a different place than my home in Northern Virginia. I lived in a triple in Curry which is always an adventure, and I went Greek.
My sophomore year was my first year as a Resident Assistant (RA), and I got more involved with my sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma, by taking a little and planning a large event.  I was accepted into the teacher-prep program which meant I could start taking my major classes.
My junior year took even more turns, I did my first Practicum (a student teaching experience), and returned as an RA. I took a pivotal role in my sorority as the Ritual chair. I made the Dean’s List for the first time in the spring.
This past summer I took two online classes through Longwood, and had wonderful experiences with online learning. Chem 101 is way easier online then it is in the lab room let me tell you.
Now that leaves my senior year. I am no longer an RA, but am living on my sorority hall in Stubbs…my first year without air-conditioning…. I have a job as an ITC on campus which means I help teachers use instructional technologies to enhance their classroom teaching, and I’m also a student blogger.
The student blogger part is a chance that I’m very excited about this year. I love Longwood for its secret organizations, to the ice cream bar at D-hall, to the fountains everywhere on campus, to the lovely students and professors that I share my experiences here with. I am very open to share about everything that happens to me at Longwood, so if you have any questions or want me to blog about something specific, tweet at/direct message me @kimberlyatLU .
In the blue and white spirit,
Kimberly@LU
