I am a senior at Longwood University, with a Liberal Studies (Elementary Education) major and a Children's Literature minor. I am a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma and live in Stubbs Dormatory on campus. I grew up in Northern Virginia and have lived in the same house for my entire life. I am the youngest of three girls and have a terror of a dog. I like to read classic books, my favorite being Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and listen to all kinds of music.

Partnership Advice

If I could give advice about the Partnership semester this is what I would say.
I would say, take notes on every assignment that is talked about in class. explicit notes, because there are so many that they get all mixed up.
I would say, ACTUALLY READ YOUR SYLLABI, a lot of the assignments and expectations are explained in them and professors don’t always take the time to go over them.
I would say that the TWS is a semester long project and not something that should be waited until the week before it’s due. You honestly will not get it done.
Give your self check up dates for assignments. A lot of the assignments are just due at the end of the semester so there is no accountability for having them done before then. Give yourself dates and hold yourself to them. It makes your life a lot easier.
I would say that tutoring lessons should be short and to the point because you have a limited number of hours to complete them…and they all NEED to be done.
I would say remember to breathe, it’s only one semester and then you have the summer.
I would say to create good relationships with your fellow partnership students so you have a support group to get you through the tears….there will be tears.
I would say to get to know your professors because they are the experts, and they will be resources for you in the future.

I would say that Partnership is not hard, a lot of work or time consuming, but I’d be lying.

In the blue and white spirit,
