I am a girl who loves to smile and tries to see the beauty in every situation. My family and friends mean the world to me and spending time with them always makes my happy. I can not believe I am already a senior at Longwood. After I graduate in May, I hope to work on my master's degree for School Psychology. Working with children has always been a dream of mine. The journey working towards accomplishing my goal has been exciting so far and I look forward to what the future holds.

“Day of the Dead!”

On Saturday, October 23rd, Joan of Arc leadership [a group organization I am involved with] volunteered to help at the local visual arts center in Farmville.  Saturday marked the celebration of a Mexican tradition called “Day of the Dead”.  It was an awesome morning with fun art activities for children to celebrate and participate in the Mexican tradition.  There were art activities including skeleton calacas, pumpkin carving, decorating sugar skulls, making maracas, and face painting!   Below is a picture of me working with a creative young kiddo who loved sponge painting Skeleton Calacas!

I had a blast helping at the Longwood Center for Visual Arts!  I would love to volunteer for their winter wonderland celebration coming up later in November! I can’t wait to see the fun winter activities LCVA planned for the children!  The feeling of volunteering in the Farmville community means a lot to me not only as an student of Longwood, but also as an adult within Farmville.  The LCVA is one of many reasons why I love Farmville, Virginia!
