When we are away from home, we want to make sure that our life is in good hands. More so, our parents and other loved ones surly want to know that their money is going to a place that prides itself on safety measures.
This week’s Wonder Wednesday installment discusses Longwood’s Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety and Emergency Management Office (EHS). The office deals with the needs of the campus and is managed by a staff who is trained for emergencies on campus ranging from the smallest oops to the biggest uh-oh. They specialize in activities such as fire safety, office safety, crisis communication and preparing students and the entire campus for an emergency.
There is a lot of information on EHS’s website for you to file through. The point of this department is to make sure that students and everyone else who is on Longwood’s campus has a safe stay while they are here. A lot rides on safety, and this office does its job in ensuring the community is a safe environment.
Make sure you stop by Iler sometime and thank James White and Tony Williams for all they do for the campus in terms of safety. I have heard Jim talk about how he stays awake at night making sure Longwood students are safe. Now, that’s some dedication.
Remember to send me your comments for future Wonder Wednesday installments!
