I am from the rural dirt roads of Botetourt County, Virginia. I choose Longwood because of its size and friendly atmosphere. I am heavily involved in my school and community both here in Farmville and back home in Eagle Rock, Virginia.

I serve as News Editor for The Rotunda, the student newspaper here on campus, and have been writing for the paper since March 2009. I am also a Sergeant-At-Arms for the Longwood University Judicial Board. I have spent this summer discovering the world of online freelance journalism and have quite enjoyed myself.

We’re Back!

The students of Longwood University have once again invaded Farmville, our home away from home for nine months out of the year. We had a much deserved and much needed week off. But it’s crunch time now folks. No more playing around. And that’s the truth; just about every assignment possible is due over the next four weeks.

The greatest thing about that though, as you may no if you’ve been reading, is I have finished all my work for one class and a large percentage of my work for a second class for the entire semester! That’s right. My Monday and Wednesday nights will practically be free from here on out (minus club/organization responsibilities).

It feels good to have a little folder on my desk top of papers that I just print the day before they are due. No more rushing to get things done. Finally, a chance to enjoy the last 60 days left at Longwood. And I’m sure it will be just like the last few years in its speediness.

I hope it doesn’t go by too fast as I truly want to savor the little time I have left with some of the great people here.

So, here’s to you, 60 days left. May we enjoy one another!
