There are a lot of activities around Longwood. In fact, it’s so much to do for really no matter who you are. But on Thursday nights, the list of activities are somewhat lacking. Don’t get me wrong; there are still things to do on campus each Thursday, but the options are usually limited. To make up for this, many students wonder over to Bar 202 or go to parties.
Drinking and partying happens at Longwood, just like it does anywhere else. I hope that’s not a surprise for anyone.
To help curb this trend of nothing to do and have more options available for students, Campus Recreation is working to establish a late-night event. Tonight is the first one of the semester. If it goes well, they hope to have more events.
There will be laser tag, dodgeball, music and more at the event. Also, the fitness center will be open for people to work out in.
Being open from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. tonight will hopefully help the center become a spot where people want to come instead of taking part in, for some, illegal activities.
What do you think? Would you like to see Campus Recreation open later more often?
