I am from the rural dirt roads of Botetourt County, Virginia. I choose Longwood because of its size and friendly atmosphere. I am heavily involved in my school and community both here in Farmville and back home in Eagle Rock, Virginia.

I serve as News Editor for The Rotunda, the student newspaper here on campus, and have been writing for the paper since March 2009. I am also a Sergeant-At-Arms for the Longwood University Judicial Board. I have spent this summer discovering the world of online freelance journalism and have quite enjoyed myself.

Care Packages and Weekly Updates

That’s what I got in the mail today. My wonderful girlfriend Nicole Dales sent me a care package full of goodness in the form of puzzles and games. That’s right, no food for me but fun stuff to do when it snows. That is, if it ever decides to cool down enough to snow.

I never really get care packages at school from family people, so it was nice to get something from Nicole at home when things get a bit boring. And they usually do on the days I am unable to venture outside to play around in the woods due to extremely cold temps or cold rain falling. I only wish I was creative enough to think of this first so I could get some brownie points.

Meanwhile, in other news, the semester is over. I was very pleased with how things ended out with grades and what not. Very excited and anxious for my last semester at Longwood. It will be a very fun and exciting one to say the least. Hard to believe the ride is almost over.

And like many of you know if you’re an avid follower, I am without high-speed Internet at home, so this post is brought to you by the Eagle Rock Library located about eight miles from my house. Thanks, pseudo desk and office space.
