Wow. Can’t believe that as soon as OPS registers the Senior class educators for their student teaching I’ll be ready for my LAST SEMESTER here.
It’s really bittersweet.
Anyway, I came to Longwood for its massively good reputation for teaching prospective teachers how to teach and it hasn’t let me down.
Teacher Work Sample is proving to be rather difficult though.
My cooperating teacher is actually an 06 LU alum so he does definitely know his stuff about teaching…
But my unit is next week and I’m still having issues with hammering my learning goals and behavioral objectives into place. I’m glad I never entered the English education program thinking it was going to be easy but this is intense… Senior year problems, I tell ya. I am glad I have a family full of teachers but something tells me I will be using them a lot this week. I’m really nervous. I know Longwood is teaching me to be the best teacher I can be, but I still have a long way to go before I actually hit my level of potential rather than my actual level of skill… I’m really hoping my ninth graders get things out of this lesson.
I’ll keep the blog posted as to how it goes.
