Hey world, I’m Averill! Some of you already know me from my blog last year, while others probably just found me! To both groups, welcome! This is my second year blogging and my third year at Longwood University. I’m an English major with a concentration in secondary education, which is a fancy way of saying I really want to teach high school English! I’m active in the Honors College, the Anime Club, and am usually somewhere around campus just hanging out or doing whatever needs to be done. Enjoy the blog!

Oh My Gosh, Guys…

I’ve been a terrible blogger, blogland. I have been insanely busy these past two weeks and FORGOT TO BLOG. :O

But I’m back, so please don’t think I randomly ran away/broke another wrist/died/got eaten by a radioactive lobster. No, don’t ask about the lobster bit. I don’t know, it was random!

Anyway, why was the Averill so busy? Well, there was Valentine’s Day, which, while I didn’t spend it with Scott, I spent talking to him, there was work, which is piling up (ack, so many papers! D: ), there was preparation for Katsucon last weekend, and there was my birthday! (I turned 19. I’m really young, I know.)

So, Valentine’s Day on campus was interesting. I went to the Show Your LUV thing for change donations and made a Valentine for Scott (which he got over the weekend), got a sticker, and made a cookie… which was delicious! I missed Scott, but I thoroughly enjoyed all the festivities around campus.

So then, after a week of work, Friday was a double hit of awesome with my birthday and Katsucon! My birthday is by far not my favorite holiday, for reasons I would rather not share with the world, so me being excited about it was a pretty big deal! I had a fantastic birthday and got some awesome presents (Thanks, everyone!), even though a good 4 hours of my birthday was spent in the car. I went to Maryland for Katsucon, met up with Scott and two of his friends, hung out with Longwood Anime people, and spent a weekend of fun and shenanigans at the convention. Saturday was the very first time I had ever worn a costume (known as cosplay at the convention, FYI) to a convention (I was a human version of the Pokemon Gengar because I felt like I had to when I had a big purple coat and I like Gengars) and it went over well. Hanging with friends and the love of my life just after my birthday? Yeah, I’d say the weekend was a success. I’m still trying to recover my sleep schedule, though.

Anyway, I have no idea what to put here now but I will try, despite how busy I am recently, to blog more again! Sorry for the big delays!
