Hey world, I’m Averill! Some of you already know me from my blog last year, while others probably just found me! To both groups, welcome! This is my second year blogging and my third year at Longwood University. I’m an English major with a concentration in secondary education, which is a fancy way of saying I really want to teach high school English! I’m active in the Honors College, the Anime Club, and am usually somewhere around campus just hanging out or doing whatever needs to be done. Enjoy the blog!

Christmas Break!

I am so sorry for the unplanned hiatus, I simply got buried under work and then kind of collapsed after the semester ended.

I think that this semester was incredibly successful, considering my grades and then everything that happened socially. I met a ton of new friends just when I thought I already knew everybody! Haha, but seriously, they made this semester awesome compared to what it would be if I didn’t have them and I am incredibly grateful for their support and the support of old friends as well.

I hope everyone has a safe holiday. I am here at the library back home, where I expected there to be really good internet, but it’s really just kind of okay. I may not get good internet except for at peoples’ houses (and not even my own, particularly), but at least I have many plans to have a fantastic break. I have a friend of mine crashing at my place due to a lack of other places in VA to go for break, and all is well with that situation now that we are getting used to it, my family is pretty good, although my stepmother’s broken wrist means there will be fewer Christmas cookies, lol.

Anyway, I hope everyone found their grades all right if they are at Longwood (Go to the Student tab and click Transcript if there is nothing about them on the main grades page under the Student tab, trust me) and with any luck they are good. I am very surprised with my grades, but pleasantly so.

Next week I start back at Food Lion for the break, where I know I will definitely get some serious work done because it’s the pre-Christmas rush. For now, though, this week is about catching back up with old friends (and most likely Scott once Radford’s exam week is over) and seeing my family.

Everyone have a safe break, especially if it starts snowing! I will be blogging more before the end of the break, but this is a good start to the break…
